Cardboard units

Stericycle offers a range of cardboard containers for the safe disposal of clinical waste and out of date stock. View available containers here.

Yellow cardboard unit

For infectious or potentially infectious clinical waste contaminated with chemical or medicinal wastes, e.g.  IV giving sets and bags, medicated / iodine dressings, swabs and wipes.

Orange cardboard unit

For infectious or potentially infectious soft clinical waste contaminated with blood / bodily fluids, e.g. dressings, swabs, wipes, gloves, gowns and aprons

Blue cardboard unit

For out of date stock, ward or patient returns (not cytotoxic or cytostatic). Not to be used for the disposal of controlled drugs unless they have been denatured first.

Remember...

Do not use for the disposal of free liquids.

Do not use for the disposal of sharps or rigid items likely to puncture the bag.

Cardboard units should be filled no higher than the fill-line marked on the container OR to the maximum weight of 15kg, whichever is reached first.
